Brueck's Ice Water is a simple cocktail that usually includes gin, vodka, lime juice, triple sec, and lemon-lime soda.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 ounces vodka, like J. Rieger's Premium Wheat Vodka
- 3/4 ounce riesling, preferably the kabinett style
- 1/2 ounce chamomile syrup (recipe follows)
- 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 ounces sparkling mineral water, like Topo Chico or Jarritos Mineragua
- Garnish: lime wheel
Steps
- Combine all ingredients except sparkling mineral water in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake for 15–20 seconds, until well chilled.
- Pour sparkling mineral water in a highball glass, and strain the mixture from the shaker over it. Add fresh ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.
How to Make Chamomile Syrup
- Combine 32 ounces water and 1/2 cup dried chamomile flowers in a pot.
- Bring to a high simmer, and steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain out the flowers using a fine-mesh sieve.
- Return chamomile tea to the pot and combine with equal parts granulated sugar.
- Stir until incorporated.
- Chill before using.
