Brueck's Ice Water

Brueck's Ice Water is a simple cocktail that usually includes gin, vodka, lime juice, triple sec, and lemon-lime soda.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 ounces vodka, like J. Rieger's Premium Wheat Vodka
  • 3/4 ounce riesling, preferably the kabinett style
  • 1/2 ounce chamomile syrup (recipe follows)
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 ounces sparkling mineral water, like Topo Chico or Jarritos Mineragua
  • Garnish: lime wheel

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients except sparkling mineral water in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake for 15–20 seconds, until well chilled.
  3. Pour sparkling mineral water in a highball glass, and strain the mixture from the shaker over it. Add fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.

How to Make Chamomile Syrup

  1. Combine 32 ounces water and 1/2 cup dried chamomile flowers in a pot. 
  2. Bring to a high simmer, and steep for 10 minutes. 
  3. Strain out the flowers using a fine-mesh sieve. 
  4. Return chamomile tea to the pot and combine with equal parts granulated sugar. 
  5. Stir until incorporated. 
  6. Chill before using.

The ultimate quick and easy appetizer that doubles as a hearty, Whole30-friendly weeknight meal when served over spaghetti squash or cauliflower rice. Ingredients Lemon Aioli 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic Crab Cakes 1 lb refrigerated pasteurized lump crabmeat, cleaned 1 cup Progresso™ plain panko crispy bread crumbs 1/4 cup mayonnaise 2 green onions, thinly sliced, whites and greens separated 5 teaspoons chile garlic sauce 2 eggs, beaten 2 tablespoons olive oil Instructions In small bowl, mix Lemon Aioli ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Ingredients For the Carrot Fries: 1 ½ lbs carrots, peeled and cut into matchstick (¼-½-inch thick) 1 tablespoon avocado oil 1 tablespoon cornstarch* (omit for Whole30) ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon dried thyme ¼ teaspoon pepper ½ teaspoon fine salt Flakey salt and fresh thyme for garnish For the Dijon-Thyme Aioli: ¼ cup mayo 1 tablespoon dijon mustard 1 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves (½ teaspoon dried thyme) ½ teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon onion powder Dash of black pepper Instructions Preheat the oven to 425℉.  Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
